Training

Amandine Duchênes comes from a family of musicians and has had a strong interest in accompaniment and chamber music from a very early age. She studied at Angers, Paris, and Saint-Maur-des-Fossés conservatoires, and chose to perfect her skills as accompanist with Michel Tranchant and David Selig at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Lyon, where was awarded her Master’s degree in June 2014. Continuing her training, Amandine joined the Opera Studio at the Opéra National du Rhin (Strasbourg) where she gained her first professional experience as répétiteur. She subsequently joined the Opera Studio at Zurich Opera, working with conductors such as Fabio Luisi, Riccardo Minasi and Gianluca Capuano.

Professional experience

In September 2016, Amandine became répétiteur at Cologne Opera. She has played, among other works, Zimmerman’s “Die Soldaten”, reputed to be one of the most difficult operas in the repertoire. During these five years at Cologne Opera, Amandine was regularly asked to prepare the French repertoire with all the soloists, but also with the Chorus of Cologne Opera. During the season 2018-2019, for the new production of “La Grande Duchesse de Gérolstein” from Offenbach, her work has been saluted by the press:

“The soloists also worked on fundamentals and their French diction (...) can only be praised.”

About the chorus: “Impeccable French”“Diction and projection were remarkably polished” Tania Bracq, Forum Opera

Since September 2021, Amandine has worked as a freelance vocal coach. She mostly notably works at Staatsoper in Berlin, Glyndebourne Festival, Liceu Opera in Barcelona, Zürich Opera House, Bregenz Festival, at the Monnaie de Munt...

She will have a 2024-2025 rich in experiences as she tackles a wide range of repertoire: Œdipe at the Bregenzer Festspiele, Alice (Avignon Opera House), La Belle Hélène (Tours Opera House), Barzakh (Antwerp Opera House) and La Sérénade (Rennes Opera House). She will give recitals with the french tenor Clément Debieuvre, and play the Deutsches Requiem (Brahms) with the choir Mélisme(s) at the Rennes Opera House.

In addition to her work as répétiteur, Amandine appears as a recitalist, in particular with the sopranos Mélissa Petit, Alexandra Marcellier, Jenny Daviet, and accompanies internationally acclaimed choirs such as the Choeur de Radio France. During the season 2019-2020, Amandine played a series of concerts around Germany for a show entitled "My husband is still on a jaunt", on the occasion of the 200th birthday of composer Jacques Offenbach.

Amandine had the pleasure to play with Diana Damrau for German television.
